Thanks to an anonymous donation facilitated by the Parish Council and Andrew Toomey, a defibrillator has been installed at the entrance to the Village Hall.
Our defibrillator is adopted by The Community Heartbeat Trust. Further local information and assistance can be gained by telephoning Andrew Toomey on 01362 688447.
Recovery and survival from Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrests are seriously increased when there is an opportunity to start resuscitation while the Emergency Services are on their way.
Training is made available to the community but it is not possible to train all potential users. The equipment is simple to use and does not place the untrained into a stress or difficult situation.
We need to increase awareness of:
How to recognise it;
Need to call 999 immediately;
Need to start Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation;
The fact that the Defibrilator PAD can be used safely by anyone.
