Accessibility Information

Bawdeswell Village Hall has been designed to offer a highly flexible space which can be used for a whole host of events and occasions. There are a number of rooms which can be hired either on their own or in various combinations to offer you the space you need. There is a 20% reduction in rates for Bawdeswell residents.

A range of furniture including large round tables, long and short rectangular tables and several different designs of chairs, is available within the hall and can be arranged to suit your event. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hall, with smart screens in the meeting rooms and a projector, sound system and screen in the main hall.

A flexible staging system is also available with a multitude of different configurations, and can be hired for a small additional charge. There are also catering and changing facilities.

We have a small in-house catering team: please enquire about rates for tea/coffee refreshments and/or light lunches when booking. See under bookings for prices.

Ample parking space provides for up to 45 cars. Plus overflow carparking on grass.

The hall is set in a large playing field with an extensive children’s play area.

Accessibility Information

The hall is suitable for use for a range of disabilities. All spaces are wheelchair-friendly and we have a disabled toilet. In addition, we have a hearing loop in the main hall and activities room.

The Main Hall

The main hall is a large space which has great potential for all types of events and activities. It can be used for  parties, wedding receptions, plays and performances, quiz nights, race nights, bingo, corporate events, lectures, presentations, film shows etc as well as all types of  indoor exercise. Seating and layout options are totally flexible, and a stage can be set up if required.

Capacity : 130 Seated

Cost : £22 per hour including use of kitchen.

The above price includes use of the Lounge, although this may also be used by hirers of other rooms if they are booked at the same time. Water is available from the Lounge area..
Arrangements can also be made to use the projection and sound equipment.

Our main hall looked like this for the wedding of a local couple. Why not consider us for your wedding or other celebration? An outside events company was used to achieve the above layout. The Activities Room

This room offers complete flexibility with no fixed furniture and is ideal for activity-based events and functions. It accommodates a comfortable 56 chairs in theatre style for lectures and seminars as well as at least 8 tables of 7 with plenty of space to move around. There is a large whiteboard and a large smart TV screen for use in presentations. It is directly linked to the main hall and also to the main store, with its own storage and work surface.

Capacity : Up to 60 seated

Cost : £17 per hour (2 hours minimum hire)

The Lounge area is available for use with the hire of the Activities Room, although this may also be used by hirers of other rooms if they are booked at the same time. Water is available from the Lounge area.

Meeting Room

The meeting room is ideal for small gatherings and meetings and will accommodate 16 in a theatre style layout or 12 around the combined tables. There is a whiteboard and a smart TV screen at the front of the room for use in presentations, plus a small worktop at the back.

Capacity : Up to 26 seated

Cost : £14 per hour (2 hours minimum hire)

The Lounge area is available for use with the hire of the Activities Room, although this may also be used by hirers of other rooms if they are booked at the same time. Water is available from the Lounge area.

Reception and Lounge

The reception / lounge is the first area you’ll see as you enter the hall and can operate as a reception area for an event in the main hall, or as a convenient space in its own right. Double doors open onto the patio seating area.

Capacity : Up to 23 seated

Please note: there may be traffic to other rooms through the Lounge during your booking.
The Lounge can also be hired for match days, with Changing Room hire at a flat rate of £30 for match.

Kitchen

The kitchen area is set up with all the equipment your caterers will need to produce quality food for your event: there is a hatch to the main hall. It can also be hired for cookery demonstrations and courses. Bawdeswell Village Hall is licensed to serve alcohol: should you wish to serve alcohol there is an additional charge of £25 per event.

Changing Facilities

The changing facilities are ideal for hire alongside sporting events, but can also be hired as a cloakroom for any event to give you some extra space. Each changing room contains a toilet. Please note: – Showers are no longer available.

Outdoor Space

Bawdeswell Village Hall is set in a large recreation area which is perfect for a family day out or for organised sports events. There is a basketball court and full size football goalposts. Contact Paul Digby on 01362 688615 for information about using the Bowling Green.

There is also a wonderful children’s play area, so bring a picnic and make the most of the space.

The playing field and children’s play area is open to all with no need to book.
